The Circus

I have wonderful memories of the circus from my childhood. Later in life I came upon the realisation that the circus is a metaphor for our everyday life. Through the spectacle of light and sound, we see the acrobats taking risks and gambling with their lives. Clowns making jokes of themselves and man demonstrating his superiority over the animal world through intense training of the horses , monkeys and elephants. In this series of paintings I transpose my thoughts of this allegory.
